FAQ

  • Can I use insurance for mental health counseling?

Our Billing Specialist will be happy to assist in answering any questions you may have.

Depending on your current health insurance provider, services can be covered in full or in part. Center Counseling is currently receiving Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Sanford Health Plans, BCBS Medicaid Expansion and Medicaid.

Please call our office to discuss private pay options.

  • What does my insurance cover?

We encourage you to call your insurance company to learn more about your benefits. Once you are a client, we will verify your insurance. This allows us to see that you have active coverage and what your deductible is for the year. To determine your insurance benefits, consider asking your provider the following questions:

Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have?

What is my deductible, and has it been met?

Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?

  • How do I cancel my appointment?

Life happens, we understand. Call, text or Spruce message us to cancel your upcoming appointment. We ask that you do alert us the day before your appointment.

  • What should I expect for my first session?

When you schedule your first appointment, our Client Care Coordinator will send you a welcome email to create a Client Portal log in. Once you log in you will need to complete the necessary forms. All of our paperwork id digital, so you will not need to complete anything in the office.

The initial visit allows you and your therapist to get to know each other and determine how to proceed. Future visits will be more therapeutic.

  • How long should I be in counseling?

Depending on what you are going through and your therapy goals, therapy can last a few sessions or several weeks or years. While you likely want to know how long it will take to "feel better," there's no simple answer. This will be discussed between you and your counselor as you progress. And ultimately, you can decide how frequently you would like to see your counselor.

  • How do I find a counselor that is right for me?

Visit our ‘Meet Our Team’ page to browse through each of our therapist’s specialties. Our Client Care Coordinator can help place you with the right counselor with a simple phone call. We are more than willing to help schedule a consultation call/video chat for you and the therapist that you are considering.
