Meet Dan Foster, a dedicated Clinical Social Worker - Therapist, who is joining our team at Center Christian Counseling in Bismarck on December 4th, 2023.

Dan approaches his work with an inspiring philosophy: he believes that every individual, both children and adults, are extraordinary survivors of difficult life circumstances. He appreciates developing genuine relationships with his clients and finds that opportunities and solutions are often found through relationship. Dan has 3 decades of experience working with children (8+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

In working with children and adolescents: Dan draws from extensive training and experience to drive core beliefs that: acting out (defiance, rebellion, etc.) and/or pain turned inwards (self-injury, anxiety, depression, etc.) most often express themselves as masks of pain, shame, and fear. The power of every single positive relationship with a dependable and trustworthy adult opens huge doors for kids to risk making healing connections. Dan desires to help through a strengths-based approach. Children who have experienced trauma need skillful and loving support to help them better manage their strong emotions and behaviors. He understands how important it is to be a trustworthy, healthy, and consistent adult in their life who can see beyond their pain and help them develop better capacities for the challenges they face. His approach in therapy sessions incorporates sensory, patterned, rhythmic, relationship-rich, interventions. This approach often offers “reachable- teachable moments” for youth who are struggling.

In working alongside adults: Dan believes that with support, coaching, and readiness for change; we all can make shifts that allow us to better manage challenges. There is hope. He desires to help his clients recover their strengths, abilities, and opportunities through counseling. Therapy can be a healing space and it’s a journey of readiness you don’t have to walk alone. Healing is a process, and it can start today.

He is accepting new clients, call now to get scheduled (701)380-5100.
